Advanced rehab techniques available at Matterhorn Fit

After graduating from Cornell University, Ryan Vesce played professional hockey for 14 years, including 10 in Europe. The Estero resident recently retired and joined performance trainer Sean Sullivan to create Matterhorn Fit, an elite sports rehab facility in Bonita Springs. Vesce serves as managing director and Sullivan is director of health and performance.

At one point during his hockey career, Vesce had back surgery and then needed hip surgery less than a year later. “I thought my career was over, but with access to the best rehab professionals, I eventually came back to play four more years,” he said.

Vesce learned about advanced techniques used for professional athletes recovering from injuries or surgery. “We wanted to bring them to everyday people who love sports,” he said.

Matterhorn Fit currently serves many active seniors and more than 20 professional athletes, six of whom played hockey in the 2018 Olympics.

“Our senior clients have specific goals, like being able to lunge after the ball in tennis or pickleball, or get a full rotation on their golf swing,” Sullivan said. “With our diagnostic tools and one-on-one attention, we help them reach their goals.”
