The Stanley Cup Finals may be over, but it’s never too early to start looking for future champions on the ice. Over the weekend, Matterhorn Fit held a futures showcase at Hertz Arena featuring some of the best young hockey players on the continent. Over the past few days, 200 of the best young hockey players in North America passed up the usual hot spots like Canada or the Northeast and called Hertz Arena home for the Matterhorn Fit All-Ivy Futures Showcase.
“You know what, yes, it did surprise me, but when you are here, you’re like why not,” former NHL player and 2-time Stanley Cup champion Trevor Daley said.
Matterhorn Fit owner Ryan Vesce thought the same thing as he put together the futures showcase event, including lodging, food, and most importantly, a spotlight for the young players. “This is a part of our total picture, and it has been working well, and it has provided a lot of these kids with opportunities that they previously did not have access to,” Matterhorn Fit owner Ryan Vesce said.
